A.C. Terminals, Inc. History

1973

Chris Adams of K Castings contacted Andrew Pakos to discuss a manufacturing opportunity. Before long, Andy set up a machine shop in his basement and A.E. Pakos Company and K Castings began to manufacture heavy duty copper battery terminals. Chris cast the terminals in the foundry, while Andy and his sons began drilling terminals in the basement machine shop.

1974

A small machine shop was built in Andy’s backyard to accommodate the growing business.

1982

Allen Pakos, Andy’s oldest son began to work full-time for A.E. Pakos Company and supervised the machine shop.

1983

The backyard shop was too small and another building was bought on Burns Street in Latrobe that required an addition just a few years later.

1987

Andy and Chris decided it was time to market their terminals themselves and A.C. Terminals, Inc. was formed between Andy and K Castings. In addition to offering their heavy duty, copper battery terminals, they choose the finest crimping tools, heavy duty and standard wall starter lugs, heat shrink tubing, small wire terminals, and cable cutters to complement their product line. Allen became Shop Supervisor while working with Andy and Chris in Sales and Marketing.

1989

Allen became National Sales Manager and Karen O’Hara, Andy’s daughter became Office Manager of the company.

2005

Bursting at the seams, a warehouse was built directly behind the Burns Street Building to accommodate the increase in production and inventory.

2009

Andy decided it was time to retire and leave the company to the next generation. Allen Pakos became President of A.C. Terminals, Karen O’Hara Vice-President of Operations, and Chris Adams of K Castings Secretary Treasurer

2022

This was the year the third generation took the helm at A.C. Terminals, as Allen Pakos retired and Kevin O’Hara, Karen’s son became President and National Sales Manager of A.C. Terminals, Inc. Allen continues to be a consultant while he works hard at improving his golf game! Foundry partner Blair Adams, now third generation owner of K Castings, has recently welcomed his son to their family business!
